The St. Louis Zoo

Today we got up early and loaded up the girls and headed to the zoo. We wanted to try to get there before we had to pay to park, and pay for the children's zoo and also pay for the carousel. We accomplished two of the three things. Because of some major construction, we were a few minutes too late to park for free.

Once inside the zoo, we went straight for the carousel. The girls loved it so much, we rode a couple of times. It was lots of fun.

After the carousel, we went to the children's zoo and they had a large tortoise out walking around. The girls were all content to stand back and look, but did not want to get too close. We also went inside a building that had many small animals. The girls loved going from one exhibit to another. They even got to see a few of the small animals out of their cages. The last stop in the children's zoo was the goats. We went in and the goats started to get a little crazy so we turned around and walked out. None of us wanted to be around for large goats attacking.

The last thing we did at the zoo was ride the train around the zoo. It was loads of fun to see many of the animals in the zoo from the comfort of the seats.

After the zoo we went to lunch and then headed home for the girls to take naps.

The Magic House

This morning, Alice and Maelyn went to Maelyn's physical therapy session. I stayed home with Mikayla and Lily so they could play. They had lots of fun together. Several times I found them "napping" on the steps.

When Alice and Maelyn returned home, we fed the girls an early lunch and put them down for early naps. We had something special planned for the afternoon, and they needed a good rest first. When the woke up, we packed them into the van and went back into St. Louis to The Magic House, a children's museum. All three girls had a blast! They loved being able to play with so many fun things!

MOPS Day

Today we got the girls and ourselves up early and went to Alice's church for MOPS. When we got there, we dropped all three girls off at their class. All three of them wailed because they didn't want their moms to leave. We were finally able to sneak out and they ended up having a great time.

After all of the announcements and devotional, it was craft time for the moms. Alice claimed she wasn't crafty, but in the end, she and I were one of the first people to start our craft and the last ones to finish. It was fun!

After MOPS, we went home to feed the girls and put them down for their naps. During nap time each day, Alice and I had our coffee and sometimes a snack, along with a good book or movie. It was great to relax.

St. Louis Arch

After church today, we went home for the girls to all nap. When the woke up, we all packed in the van and headed back into St. Louis for a visit to the Arch. When we arrived, we had the girls in their strollers, and realized that there are only steps to get from the street to the bottom of the Arch. We had fun trekking up the steps with 3 toddlers and 2 strollers. Thanks Wade for carrying the strollers!

We took some pictures of the girls, but we were standing in almost a wind tunnel at the bottom of the Arch! It was fun to see and visit.

Flying to St. Louis

Today we got up really early to start our trip to St. Louis. Matt drove us to the airport and we got there with just about 2 hours to spare. We stood in a long line to check our suitcase and get our boarding passes. They even gave a special pass to help me through security. He was unable to go with us on the trip because he had to work. We then waited in the long security line. We were all finished and waiting for the plane with only about 20 minutes until boarding. It worked out perfectly.

At the airport I met up with my friend Alice and her two girls. We were going to visit their home, and they were just finishing a visit to MD. It worked great that we could travel together! We boarded the plane and took off. It was a very bumpy ride the whole way, but we landed in soggy St. Louis two hours later.

Wade picked us up and we began our week of fun with friends!

Mowing the Grass

Again, it has been quite some time since I last posted. We have been having lots of fun here on the farm though. To get ready for Labor Day Weekend and company coming, Matt mowed our small patch of lawn. Mikayla and I watched, and then Daddy decided to take her for a ride on the lawn mower.

After her hard work of mowing the lawn...we watched her play on her slide. She loves the slide!

Labor Day Weekend

I have been waiting patiently to find the camera chip that we used to take pictures over Labor Day weekend, and I have finally found it! Now I can share all the fun we had with friends. We had the Belles' down for the weekend. Abby and I went to college together, and then we married men that are like long lost brothers. It works out great for us. We also have girls that are about 6 months apart, so they get along great! Here are some of the fun times we had.
