Daddy's Day Off

This morning was a nice relaxing morning with Matt home.  He took the day off to go hunting, but it was raining so hard this morning, he decided to just stay in bed.  We just lazed around while we waited for some friends to come over.  We were making pizza and cider!
Mrs. Bunch, Audrey, Mrs. Lynch, Nolan and Alison came to join the festivities!  Matt even put Mrs. Bunch and Mrs. Lynch to work.  They washed and cut out the bad parts on the apples.  After they were all clean and ready to go, Matt began the cider press.  Each of the kids wanted to take a turn with the handle and they all realized how difficult it really was to press apples!

After all of the apples were "shredded", Matt pressed them down and out came the cider!  We got about 2 gallons!  Everyone enjoyed some pizza and a nice cup of fresh cider!  It was so yummy!

We had some apple pieces left so Matt took them out back to the deer.  The kids watched from the deck and loved seeing the deer up so close to our house.  It was so much fun!  I am so thankful for our home that allows us to have people over so much more often.  What a fun way to spend Daddy's day off!

A Whole Month!

Wow it's been a whole month since I last posted!  A lot has happened in the last month.  We went to a wedding, had a surprise birthday party for my mom, had our Open House and had friends come visit! We also had a very sad time as 2 people we know/knew well have gone home to be with the Lord.   It has been a busy month.

First I will say that Matt ran sound at a beautiful wedding held at our church.  We enjoyed an afternoon alone without the girls.  The next day we had 40 plus people at our house to surprise my mom for her 50th Birthday.  We all gathered in the front yard and yelled Surprise when she pulled in.  She was surprised!  Her brother and his family from NY came down, and her friend from MD came too!  It was a great day!

Then we had some major unpacking and cleaning to do to get prepared for our Open House.  We rearranged furniture and hung pictures like mad men.  We put some wall decals up just the night before to make our house look more like a home.  We had a great turn out and so many people blessed us with so many things to help make our house a home!  It was a great time and a great blessing.

Last weekend we had our first guests stay at our house.  Friends of ours from PA came to visit and didn't have to stay with Matt's parents this time.  They stayed with us!  It was so nice!  They drove 130ish miles and it took 5hrs!  They hit some pretty major traffic!  Jimmy said they were never coming again after that drive!  Then when they drove home...it took just as long.  I hope they really will visit again!

Matt and Jimmy did some farm work on Saturday while Abby and I stayed home with the girls.  We ran a quick errand in town, but got home quickly when we saw all the people here for the race in Dover.  We just had a lazy couple of days.

Finally, Bob Burris, the President and CEO of Burris Logistics went home to be with the Lord.  Matt, his brother Josh and his dad all work at Burris Logistics.  Bob was a mentor to Matt's dad and a good friend to all three of them.  It was a hard week, but a great comfort to know Bob is in Heaven!  We attended his viewing and waited in line for an hour and a half with both girls!  This man affected so many people!  His Memorial Service the next day was such an uplifting and encouraging time.  What an amazing man!

It has been a busy month here at the Krupka house...and is only going to get busier as we have a nephew on the way...due in December and my sister is getting married in December.  Lots of baby and bridal showers as well as plans for the wedding.  Hope it won't be another month before I post!
